We have developed partnerships with these awesome organizations. Thank you so much for supporting us and our mission to empower everyone to be makers!

Centre for Social Innovation

STEAMLabs is located on the ground floor of the Centre for Social Innovation‘s newest location. The Centre for Social Innovation is a social enterprise with a mission to catalyze social innovation in Toronto and around the world. They believe that society is facing unprecedented economic, environmental, social and cultural challenges. They also believe that new innovations are the key to turning these challenges into opportunities to improve our communities and our planet.

Mozilla Hive Toronto Learning Network

STEAMLabs was a founding member of the Mozilla Hive Toronto Learning Network in 2012. A thriving collaboration with over 60 youth-serving member organizations across the city, Hive Toronto has engaged more than 4,000 youth and educators in connected learning experiences through funded programs and public events. STEAMLabs was awarded two grants through Hive Toronto’s Collaborative Community Projects  that was possible through the generous support of the Ontario Trillium Foundation.

Canadian Internet Registration Authority (CIRA)

STEAMLabs was awarded a grant by CIRA’s .CA Community Investment Program to create an open source Internet of Things teaching kit. THANK-YOU!

To support STEAMLabs and high tech education, Particle(formerly known as Spark) has generously donated Particle Core hardware development kits for our educator technology packs! Particle creates development tools that bring hardware into the web age. Particle’s tools are designed to be easy to use for novices, so designers, students, and artists without a technical background can build connected products. At the same time, their tools are powerful enough for a skilled embedded systems designer, and there are many ways to work with Particle that give you full control over the system down to the bare metal.

Tekton Tools

From the day that a friendly person from Tekton dropped off a box full of their tools at our booth at Maker Faire, we’ve been a huge fan of Tekton Tools! They are affordable and good quality. They support maker education, and have generously equipped the STEAMLabs with tools. We are proud to name them our recommended hand tool supplier!

Dimentians Ltd

Dimentians is social enterprise that has supported STEAMLabs from day one through in-kind and financial support. They are a Toronto, Canada based web development company with over 19 years of experience, specializing in providing small and medium sized businesses with complete, effective web presences, including integration with the latest social media networks.
