Robotic Playgrounds Made By Girls Camp

Toronto! One of the most beautiful and culturally diverse cities in the world. In this program, girls will learn all about architecture and installation design to reimagine, remix and recreate green spaces and concrete landscapes in some of Toronto’s most interesting neighbourhoods.

Through a number of walking field trips to local landmarks, we’ll discuss how to make spaces more engaging through sculpture, projection mapping, electronics and more! Once back at STEAMLabs, girls will choose a space they’d like to transform (it can be anything from the side of an interesting building, to a parking lot, or even along the shoreline of Lake Ontario) and learn how to prototype and build their creation using Arduino robotics, laser cutting, 3D printing and woodworking.

What will they learn?
  • 3D design for 3D printing
  • 2D design for laser cutting
  • Electronics
  • Arduino Robotics
  • Woodworking
